Spiritual Warfare & The Believer’s Authority

Is there someone in your life who just rubs you the wrong way? If there is, it may surprise you to learn that it’s not really that person who is creating the rub. There is someone else at work—your real enemy—and he may be using them in an attempt to gain an inroad to your life. There is a spiritual war going on, and as a believer, you must be aware of it.

Many Christians have adopted a humanistic view of things. They do not realise the spiritual implication behind what is going on in their lives. What I mean by humanistic is that they only look at things on a surface level. They think most everything they encounter on a daily basis is either physical or natural.

The Global Fertility Crash

A recent BBC headline claimed the world is facing a “jaw-dropping” global crash. Not an economic crash, mind you, but a crash in the birthrate. Citing a new study by University of Washington, the BBC article claims that “Falling fertility rates mean nearly every country could have shrinking populations by the end of the century.” In fact, 23 countries, including Spain, Portugal, Japan, and South Korea, could see their populations cut in half by 2100.

Christians should always encourage those government policies that make it easier for couples to “choose life,” but we also need to help people think more clearly about the whole issue. We have to debunk the over-population myth that should have died decades ago.

Justice For Women Through The Lens Of The Bible

Thulisile “Thuli” Nomkhosi Madonsela was born in Johannesburg in 1962. She shared a powerful message on justice for women through the lens of the Bible:

What a wonderful privilege to talk to you about Social Justice for women through the lens of the Bible. It is the right time to engage in this conversation as we live in very uncertain times. Social justice is about embracing the humanity of everyone, reflected in the just and fair distribution of all opportunities, resources, benefits, privileges, and benefits in society. Ultimately, social justice is about equal enjoyment of all human rights and freedoms, with no one left behind. If we’re talking about social justice for women through the biblical lens, we must ask ourselves, what does the Bible say about embracing the humanity of women? Not as subhuman beings, but as full human beings together with their male counterparts. We also would like to know, what does the Bible have to say about fair and just distribution of all opportunities, privileges, benefits, and burdens in society?

The Mystery Of The Trinity

The doctrine of the tri-unity of the Godhead is a mystery! We can create symbols, diagrams, and analogies to try to explain it, but we really do not understand how God can be three, yet one. It is not a revealed doctrine. It is implied in the references to Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Father as God. Yet, the doctrine of the Trinity is central to how we define orthodox Christianity.

Genesis 1:26 states, “Let us make man in our image”. The Hebrew word Elohim is a plural name used for God. God is more than one. In the New Testament, the Father is called God, the Son is also called God, and so is the Holy Spirit. Yet the consistent Old Testament declaration is that God is one. So, if God is one, yet the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are God, then God must be three-in-one, a trinity.
