What Does God Say To Single Mothers?

The Bible does not directly address single mothers, but there are many examples of God’s gentle interaction with women, mothers, widows, and their children. These examples, and God’s gentleness, apply whether a mother is single, married, widowed, or divorced. God knows each person intimately and knows her situation completely.

The Bible warns that sex outside of marriage is sinful and dangerous and will bring troubles, one of which is that a woman might have to raise a child by herself, which is undoubtedly difficult. And if it is her own sin that has resulted in single motherhood, our gracious God is still just as willing to bring help and comfort. And what’s better is that He offers forgiveness for those sins through Jesus Christ and the eternal comfort of Heaven for the mother who accepts Him, the children who accept Him, and even the estranged husband/boyfriend who accepts Him!

The Common Link Between Eastern Spirituality & Evolutionism

Looking at today’s once-Christian ‘Western’ society, one sees two non-Christian worldviews growing like long-established trees, stretching their branches into everything from education, to the media, to the church. One tree is materialism, the belief that matter is all there is, firmly based on and intertwined with Darwinian evolution. Its canopy bears the dark fruits that stem from morality without a Creator (and thus Lawgiver).

Alongside it a second tree is thriving: Eastern spirituality. With its alluring blossoms promising enlightenment, health, and wisdom, this tree seems to be drawing much of the world to its shade. These two worldview ‘trees’ may look very different, but are remarkably connected by a common root system.

In The Middle Of The Mess

Sheila Walsh is a Scottish-Born author, singer, evangelist, and speaker. She has a doctorate in ministry and travels the world sharing her powerful testimony. Sheila has just released her book, In the Middle of the Mess, which helps readers to deal with difficulties and struggles. Sheila toured South Africa earlier this month, sharing her testimony at the Hillsong Colour Conference.

Q – Can you tell us why you wrote this book, In the Middle of the Mess?
A. I wrote In The Middle Of The Mess to help women understand that until we see Jesus face to face, there will always be struggles, always a mess. This doesn’t mean that we don’t love God or that we’re not being faithful, or that He is not with us – it just means we’re still on this earth. So many women feel that they are the only ones struggling. I pray this book will help them understand that they are not alone, they have a sisterhood and they have a Saviour.

A Gospel Of Misery

Scarcely thirty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the ideology underlying socialism continues to enjoy significant support. Rather than being a relic of history, socialism remains a serious proposition throughout most of the world.
Ultimately, what draws people to socialism and binds them to that worldview, regardless of – and often in spite of – the historical evidence and the economic and social arguments against it, is a foundational belief in the essentially good and benevolent nature of people. This leads to the gravely-mistaken view that humanity can “bring about the Kingdom of Heaven on earth” through our own actions, but this is only possible through obedience to God and His will. It is this self-empowered view that leads to the justification for having all-powerful socialistic governments.
