This month’s issue of JOY! Magazine is filled with timely, challenging, and deeply encouraging content to strengthen your faith and help you navigate a world that is increasingly confused about truth, identity, and Biblical values. Our cover story features a powerful interview with Bert Pretorius, who shares a heartfelt call for fathers to rise up, lead with integrity, and build homes firmly grounded in Christ.

Inside this issue, you’ll find rich Biblical teaching that calls believers back to truth, courage, and spiritual discernment. We explore important questions facing Christians today, including whether exposing sin is the same as judging, why your voice and vote matter, and how believers can remain grounded when culture pushes against Biblical conviction. You’ll also discover a compelling follow-up feature on The Kiffness, exploring what it means to stand firm when faith is tested and how to remain rooted in Christ while navigating criticism and public pressure.

Be encouraged by practical articles on parenting, fatherhood, worship, stewardship, and reconnecting with your child. This issue also reflects on the wonder of God’s creation through the Artemis II mission and points readers back to the majesty and glory of the Creator. Alongside this are powerful testimonies and missions updates that reveal God’s faithfulness in every circumstance, from personal stories of healing and transformation to evangelistic outreaches impacting lives across Africa.

As always, every page is designed to encourage, equip, and point readers back to the truth of God’s Word and the hope found in Christ. Don’t miss this powerful issue – available now at leading supermarkets nationwide or online at joygifts.co.za in both print and digital formats.

To judge or not? Is exposing sin judging?

In this season, we are seeing a great deal of exposure of sin in the Body of Christ, with some well-known Christian leaders being revealed to have lived in ongoing sin over many years. This is not something to rejoice over, but rather something we should lament and pray about – both for these leaders and for ourselves, lest we too fall into temptation. A significant challenge arising in the Body of Christ is the division that such exposure brings. Those who speak out are often condemned and criticised, and many are confronted for “judging” fellow believers. The question before us is this: Is exposing sin the same as judging, or is it something God requires of us – and if so, how should it be done?

But what has followed in its wake is something far more profound. As the crew travelled further from earth than most humans ever have, their reflections did not drift into cold emptiness. Instead, they turned towards wonder, meaning, and ultimately towards Christ. For Christians, this is not surprising. Scripture has long told us that creation speaks. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands” (Psa 19:1). Artemis II has become a fresh reminder of that truth…

When his dad passed away from cancer, Bart wrote the song “I Can Only Imagine”, which eventually reached five-times platinum. Then Bart became a father himself, and though he had reconciled with his father, he never had a good model of fatherhood. He was unsure how to do it well, despite his deep desire to be a great dad…
