“God didn’t give up on me. He kept pursuing” – Lindy-Ann Hopley

Her journey has been marked by searching and brokenness – but also by God’s relentless love. Lindy-Ann Hopley encountered Jesus in a way that radically transformed her life, and now she takes that message of freedom and healing to the nations as an evangelist, revivalist, and the founder of Beautiful Witness Ministries. Known for her bold voice and deep compassion, Lindy-Ann preaches the Gospel around the world. In this interview, she opens up about her past, her calling, and her passion for revival.

Q. Why do you believe revival is so needed today?
A. Millions do not yet know Jesus and will not spend eternity with God. They are broken and searching, desperate for love. God is that love, which we carry. Jesus came to give us life and life in abundance. And then He gave us His Spirit – the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead – so that we could continue His works. The world needs revival now more than ever. “And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Rom 10:14). That’s why I burn to equip the saints – not just to sit in church pews, but to walk in the same power and love that Jesus modelled. I started the Beautiful Witness Academy to equip ordinary believers to walk like Jesus did. I’ve watched people who once thought they had nothing to offer go out and lead their friends, co-workers, even strangers to Jesus. Revival isn’t locked up in a church building – it’s meant to flood schools, hospitals, workplaces, living rooms, and streets. We are carriers of His Spirit, and when we say yes, dead things come back to life. That is revival…

How to overcome the fear of witnessing

If we are honest, most Christians feel nervous when it comes to sharing their faith. Some are shy by nature, some fear rejection, others feel they don’t know enough Scripture or won’t have the right answers. Yet, Jesus calls us to be His witnesses in the world (Acts 1:8). We cannot allow fear to silence us. The good news is that God equips us to speak with courage, even when our knees shake.

The most powerful witness flows from a life lived with Christ. If we are not walking with Him daily, we will find it difficult to speak about Him with confidence. Jesus reminds us, “Let your light shine before men” (Matt 5:16). Living a consistent Christian life is a testimony in itself. Our words carry more weight when our actions reflect God’s love. Make it a priority to spend time in the Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers…

The mission of the Holy Spirit

When it comes to the subject of the Holy Spirit, there’s a lot of confusion and misunderstanding within the Church – apprehension, sometimes fear, sometimes even abuse. If you’ve been around the Church world long enough, you know what I’m talking about. The subject of the Spirit is one that constantly seems to be a stumbling block for believers. Either they’re neglecting the work of the Spirit on one hand, or they’re abusing it on the other. And actually, abuse is also neglect – neglect is a form of abuse. So really, it’s just a matter of which end of the spectrum the Holy Spirit is being misunderstood on.

This ought not to be, because the Holy Spirit of God has been poured out for the sake of the Church of Jesus Christ. We ought to understand who He is and what His mission is. We’re going to look at a story from Genesis 24, which is actually a “type” – a foreshadowing – of something we discover in the New Testament…

Praying for our police

Every day in South Africa, men and women put on their uniforms, leave their families at home, and step out into a world where danger is very real. Our police officers are often the first to arrive at scenes of violence, theft, and tragedy. They carry the heavy responsibility of protecting our communities in a nation where crime statistics are among the highest in the world.

It is easy to complain about corruption or to feel disheartened by reports in the news, but we must not forget that there are thousands of officers who faithfully risk their lives to keep order and protect the innocent. These are husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters – people just like us – who need our prayers more than ever…
