Erika Kirk: Widow & warrior, walking in her calling

On 10 September 2025, Charlie Kirk – husband, father, and outspoken Christian leader – was assassinated while speaking to students on a university campus. The news stunned the globe and sent shock waves through the Church. For many, it became a defining moment about the cost of following Christ. For Erika Kirk, it was the loss of her beloved husband, the father of her children, and her closest partner in life and ministry.

Only days later, thousands gathered at Charlie’s memorial. Millions watched online. In that moment Erika stood before the world and spoke with quiet authority. Her story is a call for change – to governments, communities, and churches, to confront harmful traditions and protect the vulnerable. It is also a challenge to men to become allies, protectors, and advocates, echoing Micah 6:8, “What does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

Is He the priority, not just theoretically but in tangible things like where you spend your time and energy? Are you praying? I know it sounds simple: read your Bible, pray every day, and you’ll grow. But it’s the number one thing neglected by believers. Are you reading your Bible? Is Jesus at the centre of your family?
