Spiritual gifts are not reserved for a few special Christians – they are given to every believer at the moment of salvation. Just as salvation is received by grace through faith, so are the gifts of the Spirit. God is generous and kind. He gives His children everything they need to serve Him well.
Spiritual gifts are supernatural abilities or capacities given by the Holy Spirit to individual believers. These gifts are not the same as natural talents. They are specific workings of the Spirit, given by grace, for the purpose of building up the Church and serving others. They flow from God’s nature and are always rooted in His mission. Acts 1:8 reminds us: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.” That power is not for personal gain, but for witness and ministry.
