Renew Your Mind

Christians are known as being “people of the Book.” After all, God chose to reveal Himself to us through a collection of books! The Bible even contains commands to read it – think of Deuteronomy 6:6-9. But what about non-Biblical works? You know how the Apostle Paul in Romans 12:2 warns us to stop being conformed to the fallen world? He goes on to say, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Chip Ingram believes a key way to do that is to read great books.

Don’t be overwhelmed. You just need a plan. In addition to your daily Bible reading and meditation, Chip encourages you to shoot for reading at least one book every month. You might need to turn off the television and shut down the internet, but it will be worth it! A final word: enjoy the journey! It is not about how many books you read.
