What One Generation Tolerates, The Next Embraces

A ground-breaking contemporary Christ-ian musician, Carman, had a great impact on South Africa in the early 1990s. He writes here in the context of what is presently happening in America, but we believe the principles apply to Christians everywhere…
Christian, where is your courage?
“As a Christian in ministry for 35 years, my position should be obvious by now. I’m not going join an angry mob and throw more rocks at the next Gay Pride parade. It’s not going to win any more to Christ and I wouldn’t say anything you haven’t already heard.
But here’s what I will say. I have to hand it to the LGBT community. They have fought for what they believed in much harder than the Christian community ever did. They’re much more united than we are. They comprise only 3% of the American population and took on the 83% who claim to be Christians and won. They have marched, held politicians, entertainers, sports figures and TV networks  accountable for negative portrayals of homosexuals and even the very words they find offensive. They have even got laws passed that sodomy is no longer illegal. They have been relentless and determined to demand the equality, the respect and the position in society that they felt they deserve. And man, they have proved what hard work and determination can accomplish.
Most Christians seem content to complain to each other and none go to war for what they believe in until the change comes that they demand. So the victory goes to the ones who wanted it more and were willing to sacrifice the most to get it.
Unite and fight!
I’m not surprised at the Supreme Court’s decision to legalise homosexual marriage. In 1962, 90% of the US population wanted prayer in public school. Again 3% wanted it out. But the 3% were willing to do what the 90% were not willing to – unite and fight for it.
Since that time, 45 categories of national immorality have skyrocketed upward. Everything from violent crime, to divorce, to teen pregnancy, to adultery, to serial killing has continued to rise. We rejected God’s Word in 1962 and took our first verbal public stance against Him as a nation. America has never recovered.
Don’t be dominated by sin
Recently, an academic conference held at the University of Cambridge said that paedophilia interest is “natural and normal for males” and that “at least a sizable minority of normal males would like to have sex with children.” Unless, you missed it, the key word there is “normal”.
This is in the beginning stage of how something becomes a law and it will create another American subculture based on “normal” sexual orientation. If you think it won’t, then you are not seeing what is really at stake here. Remember Martin Luther King warned us that everything Hitler did was legal. He had no higher authority to go to other than his own government.
What I’m saying is simple: What one generation tolerates, the next generation embraces. If we allow sin to be tolerated amongst us, then we must get comfortable with ultimately being dominated by it. Unfortunately, Christians need to learn a lesson from the fearless tenacity of the 3% in the LGBT community on how to dig deep and fight the giants of this life.
Become fearless for your faith
In 1994 I wrote a song that sparked a stadium tour and said the only hope for the world is Jesus and we need God again. I collected a million names on a petition for prayer in public schools, more than any American citizen. But that was another generation, my generation. Where are the warriors for this generation? I was only a musician; it was all I knew to do.
Where are this generation’s fearless musicians, politicians and public personalities who will put their careers on the line to stand up and defend the Word of God? We need our ‘Davids’ who will face the giants and take them down and not just watch movies about it. I challenge you with this today:  After you’ve prayed, starting in your own community, what action will your first step be, to put God in your country again?” 

Good Or God? Embracing A Better Standard

Many centuries ago, a wealthy young leader approached Jesus with a question burning in his heart: what must I do to gain eternal life?
Good by whose standards?
This leader was an honest man who had never committed adultery, murdered, lied, stolen, or cheated someone in a business deal. He had always respected his parents. He was a model citizen and was most likely admired by many. When the young man came to Jesus, he honoured Him with the greeting “Good Teacher.”
Assess your benchmark
The man’s question was one Jesus could certainly answer. However, before Jesus acknowledged his inquiry, He countered, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God” Mark 10:18.
Wait a minute. Why would Jesus correct a man who called Him good? Was Jesus not good? Of course He was! So why did He say this? I’d like to propose an answer to that question, one that has the potential to transform our perspective on every aspect of our lives. Could it have been that “good” was the wrong standard of judgement? In other words, is it possible that man’s standard of what is good is different from God’s standard?
That’s an unfamiliar idea to many of us. These days, the terms good and God are seemingly synonymous. We believe that what is generally accepted as good must be aligned with God’s Will. Generosity, humility, and justice are good. Selfishness, arrogance, and cruelty are evil. The distinction seems pretty straightforward.
But is that all there is to it? And if good is so obvious, why does Hebrews 5:14 teach that we must have discernment to recognise it? Why, at the dawn of his reign, does King Solomon passionately pray, “Give to Your servant an understanding heart…that I may discern between good and evil”? 1 Kings 3:9.
The standard of good
Years ago, I was puzzling over this very issue when the Spirit of God said to me, “Son, it wasn’t the evil side of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that Eve was drawn to. It was the good side.”
I opened my Bible to Genesis 3 to confirm what I’d just heard. Sure enough, I read: “When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate” Gen 3:6. I saw the words good, pleasant and desirable, and my jaw dropped. Then I heard the Spirit of God say, “There is a good that is not of Me. It is not submitted to Me.” I sat there and contemplated what I had heard and read. My standard of good was apparently different from the Divine standard of good.
God proceeded to speak to my heart. He showed me how most “good” people, and especially Christian people, are not drawn to lewd sexual orgies, dark music with blatantly rebellious lyrics, rock stars who flaunt satanism in their concerts, mass murder, grand larceny, or any such blatantly evil behaviour. Most are deceived by and drawn to behaviour and things that seem right, good, and wise, but are contrary to His wisdom.
We have been deceived
We are told: “There is a way that seems right [good] to a man, but its end is the way of death” Prov 14:12. There is so much to unpack in this verse! Let’s first discuss the latter half: “but its end is the way of death.”
Many Christians don’t pay close attention to these words because they think, “I’m saved, headed for Heaven, and will not see death.” In their minds, the statement only applies to nonbelievers, but there’s more to it. Look at the words “the way of death.” Scripture speaks with some frequency of the way of life and the way of death. For example, God declares to His people (not to those who don’t belong to Him), “Thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death’” Jer 21:8.
“Way” here means the wisdom we live by. You’ll see this word often throughout Scripture. Jesus frames it as follows: “The way is broad that leads to destruction [death], and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life…” Matt 7:13–14. We might interpret this statement as being about our destiny in the afterlife, but is Jesus only addressing eternity here?
The way of death
Think back to the Garden of Eden. In the centre of this garden, the Lord placed the tree of life. It represented God’s way of life, His wisdom. The other central tree in the garden was called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This tree represented the way of death; it stood for man’s wisdom apart from Him.
Partaking of the second tree’s fruit didn’t just impact Adam and Eve in the afterlife, it affected them immediately. Before their foolish act, they had been unrestrained, productive, healthy and successful at whatever they set their hearts to do. But once they partook of the forbidden tree, life became difficult. They were plagued with sickness, lack, stressful toil, and difficulties they’d never known. They had entered into the way of death.
However, God is a Redeemer. He’d already planned to recover what man had lost. He made a Covenant in order to restore the way of life. His wisdom would once again produce true happiness, pleasant living, abundance, and other great benefits:
“Happy is the man who finds wisdom…all the things you desire cannot compare with her. Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her, and happy are those who retain her” Prov 3:13-18.
The way of life
When we apply God’s wisdom to our lives, it results in fruitful living, success, a long life, peace of mind, and honour – the way of life. This way of life involves more than eternity in Heaven. It encompasses our existence on earth as well. Because of this, we can see that the issue of understanding what is good – rather than what seems good – is relevant to everyone.
Returning to Proverbs 14:12, we read, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” When we examine the first part of this verse, we now know it can easily apply to Christian and nonbeliever alike. There is a way that seems right – it seems good, wise, beneficial, strategic, acceptable, profitable, and so forth. Yet the warning is clear: what seems good may actually be detrimental, harmful, and non-productive – the way of death.
A counterfeit good
Here’s a powerful truth: before the foundation of the world, God designed a plan for your life, one that is overflowing with fulfilled purpose, immense joy and great satisfaction. His will and plan for you are perfectly and completely good. As the apostle Paul writes: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” Rom 12:2.
God’s plans for you are good! The danger, however, is that a counterfeit good can keep you from embracing God’s best.
Pray for wisdom
Could we ever fall into the delusional state of calling what’s right wrong or what’s wrong right? The simple answer is, Yes! Eve was deceived while living in a perfect environment, free from sin or mistreatment. Peter thought he was giving Jesus good counsel when he told the Saviour he wouldn’t be killed, but his thinking was the exact opposite of God’s wisdom. And if we think back over our lives, we can probably remember times when we made a decision that seemed good only to discover it wasn’t the best, and sometimes that it wasn’t good at all.
Be guided by the Holy Spirit
Jesus Himself warned that deception would be so cleverly concealed in our time that many, even the elect (believers), could fall prey to it. The good news is that God is not trying to hide His best from us. He’s not in the business of pulling the shades over our eyes. He promises that those who seek will find.
The key is found in Romans 12:2. We cannot discern what is truly good for our lives without first having our minds renewed. If we commit to the journey of seeking truth, we will not be duped by its counterfeit. The question is, will we look to the Source of truth, or will we settle for a superficial knowledge of God and His good will?
A Godly perspective
Where are you with this issue? Are you judging things to be good from a human point of view or from God’s? Is there an area – or areas – in which you default to what seems good without seeking Heaven’s wisdom? I encourage you to pursue a new perspective. Get in God’s presence and His Word, and ask His Spirit to guide you along the way of life! 

Agenda – How The New World Order Is Hijacking Civilisation

Globalists have used wars, economic depressions, recessions and population control to undermine Western civilisation and bring about their New World Order. The Islamic invasion Trojan Horse mass migration into Europe and escalating riots and terrorism represent an advanced stage in this anti-Christian agenda.

Demographic engineering
Through aggressive population control tactics, promoting birth control, abortion, sterilisations and massive propaganda of “Overpopulation” the globalists have dramatically brought down the population of Europeans and Americans. Then, by betraying stable governments in Africa, Asia and South America and bringing about economic collapse, a vast movement of refugee populations has been stimulated into Europe, North America and South Africa. By dramatically decreasing populations of those countries traditionally Christian and exploding the populations of those who are pagan and anti-Christian, the goal is a dramatic change in demographics and the death of Christian civilisation.

Eurabia
The sharp decline of the birth rate of Europeans and the massive influx of Muslim immigrants into Europe, for example, is hoped to bring about a transformation of Europe into Eurabia. The goal in all of this is a world population more amenable to manipulation and control by Globalists.

Population control
From America being a mostly Protestant Christian nation of people from a European background, the promotion of population control methods to suppress the growth of Protestant Americans and stimulating a huge influx of immigrants from Third World nations have brought America to the position where the demographics have been radically altered.

Neutralising the Church
To distract and neutralise the Christian Church, false doctrines and heresies have been vigorously promoted. Pacifism has been promoted and a rapture fever obsession with end times prophecies has greatly distracted many Christians.

Defeatism and escapism
Antinomianism has gutted the Church of the Law of the Lord which is perfect, which converts the soul. Defeatism and escapism have neutralised many Churches. Worldly music, age segregated services, youth groups which entertain rather than educate, have further undermined the Christian resistance to the New Wold Order.

Derailing the Church
Discernment is plainly at a low ebb in the average Western church. Sensationalism, materialism, idolatrous elevating of high profile tele-evangelists and faith healers have side-tracked many believers from fulfilling the Great Commission.

Hijacking education
Most Christians barely notice that secular humanists have hijacked the schools and have continued to send their children to, what are effectively, anti-Christian brainwashing institutions. Theological seminaries have generally been infiltrated by liberal theologians and those who hold to Theistic Evolution. The resulting undermining of Biblical Christianity throughout many denominations is analogise to a cancer working its way through, what used to be, a healthy body.

The reformation roots of western civilization
History testifies how God has blessed and used the Christian nations to bless all the families of the nations of the earth. The Protestant nations of Western Europe have a great Christian heritage. Despite violent opposition, Protestants emerged from the fires of persecution to change lives, make history and transform nations. Faithful believers contended for the Faith, preserved and translated God’s Word, Reformed the Church and vigorously proclaimed the Word of God to all nations.

A heritage of faith and freedom
Christian civilisation achieved the highest levels of productivity, innovation, scientific discoveries, medical advances, missionary outreaches, works of mercy, successfully campaigned to end the slave trade and set the captives free, laying foundations for justice through the rule of law. The legacy of Faith and freedom through Christian Europe is unparalleled in the history of the world.

“All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. For the Kingdom is the Lord’s and He rules over the nations. All …shall bow before Him… a posterity shall serve Him. It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation. They will come and declare His righteousness, to people who will yet be born, that He has done this.” Psalm 22:27-31

The greatest century of missions
The 19th century was the greatest century of Missionary advance. It was a century of astounding inventions and of spectacular advances in technology. Many countries experienced dramatic spiritual Revivals. Christian missionaries won whole tribes and nations to Christ, in the remotest regions of the globe.

To the ends of the earth
Christianity came to the beginning of the 20th century on a rising and apparently unstoppable tide. Christianity was gaining spectacular momentum as missionaries from Europe were Evangelising and discipling virtually every tribe and nation. The Protestant Faith had far outstripped the Catholic and Orthodox branches in missionary activity, vitality and initiative. The Protestant Faith had become the dominant Faith of the most productive, powerful and prosperous nations in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Amidst irrepressible optimism, many were openly speaking of the beginning of the Biblical Millennium on earth.

Retreat from victory
At the first World Missions Conference in Edinburgh in 1910, delegates were anticipating the completion of the Great Commission within their generation. No one in 1910 would have anticipated the wholesale abandonment of entire nations to communism, false religions and heathenism. Nor would anyone have predicted that the church would retreat from victory to such an extent that they would be questioning the existence of the devil, or hell, or redefining marriage to include what God, in the Bible, describes as perversion and an abomination.

World war
The Christian era of bold missionary expansion came to an abrupt halt as the guns of August 1914 erupted. The great European countries, which have been the heartland of Christendom, and the source of most of the world’s missionaries devastated each other’s economies and annihilated millions of one another’s young men, in what has to be recognised as the most tragic and senseless conflict in history.

Sinister manipulation
The sinister bankers who pulled the strings behind the scenes and engineered the auto genocide of Europe, were also the ones who owned many of the companies that made the machine guns, bullets, bombs, shells and artillery, that destroyed the cream of Europe. There are numerous studies that have shown the role of Freemason bankers and politicians such as Lord Nathan Rothschild, whose goal was to bring down Christian civilisation. Nothing could have stopped the positive onward march of Christianity worldwide, except that Christians were persuaded to kill one another so enthusiastically, and so efficiently, in the First World War.

Secularisation and revolution
Even more devastating than the actual numbers of people killed, crippled, or severely injured, was the damage to the spiritual life of Europe. The secularisation of Europe and the breakdown of moral standards, coincided with a great resurgence of Revolutionary fervour and Marxist Communism, which filled the vacuum left by the collapse of the Russian, German and Austrian Empires.

The worst century of persecution
As the 19th century was the greatest century of Missionary advance, the 20th century proved to be the worst century of persecution in history. More Christians were martyred for their Faith in the 20th century than in all the previous 19 centuries combined. Looking back over the last 100 years, one can discern how secular humanists have systematically hijacked Christian civilisation.

Infiltration and subversion
Marxists have targeted 5 major culture-shaping institutions for infiltration: educational institutions; the entertainment industry; the news media; religious institutions; and political institutions.

The battle for the mind
Marxist revolutionaries, secular humanists, atheists and evolutionists have so thoroughly infiltrated most of the universities of Europe and North America, that today God is not only banished from the curriculum, but Christianity and its contributions to civilisation are marginalised, ignored, or vilified. Even scientists advocating Intelligent Design are mercilessly hounded from institutions of higher learning. Instead of education, teaching people how to think critically, we now mostly have indoctrination, telling students what to think.

Rearranging reality
Anti-Christian secular humanists have dominated the entertainment industry over the last century, subverting families and undermining morality at every turn. Particularly insidious has been the spate of “This is a true story”, or “Based on a true story”, or “Inspired by true events” rewriting of history and distorting of reality.

The first battlefield
As Karl Marx declared: “The first battlefield is the rewriting of history”. Marx’s disciples have been very busy, through both the educational institutions and in the entertainment industry, in re-writing history.

Corrupt and conquer
The news media has also come to be overwhelming dominated by secular humanist prejudice against Christianity. The secular humanist mass media has been consistently ignoring the relentless anti-Christian persecution by communist and Muslim governments. Through selective focus and distortion of reality, the mass media has effectively brainwashed generations of Christians to vote for those who hate Christian values, and to idolise those who are the intractable enemies of the Faith.

Confuse, divide and conquer
Most of the mainline denominations have been infiltrated by secular humanists, called liberal theologians, who have gutted the churches of the Biblical Gospel and produced generations of spineless evangellyfish. Many churches are filled with pseudo-saved, semi-saved, half-saved, un-saved pew warmers who have never been truly converted, nor have they come into any real relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

National suicide
As a result of the successful infiltration by secular humanists of education institutions, the entertainment industry, the news media and religious institutions, control over political institutions has been inevitable. Those who argue for the good of their nation are shouted down and vilified as dangers to society. Most nations now seemed, to be governed by political parties determined to commit national suicide and sell out their nations’ sovereignty to internationalists.

The United Nations
The hostility of the United Nations to everything Christian is obvious by their consistent support for nations which persecute the Church and failure to effectively address the targeting of Christian minorities. The disgraceful track record of the United Nations, when they have militarily intervened in nations, reveals their true nature.

Treachery in Rwanda
The United Nations complicity in disarming the general population in Rwanda enabled the Rwandan holocaust of April/May 1994. More people were killed by machetes in 6 weeks in Rwanda, than have died from nuclear weapons in all of history. The United Nations forces stood by and failed to save lives. As Holocaust in Rwanda, Shake Hands With the Devil, and the British film “Shooting Dogs” (Beyond the Gates) documents, the United Nations actually handed over thousands of Christian refugees, who had fled to them for protection, into the hands of the Interhambwe mass-murderers who slaughtered 800,000 people.

Human trafficking
The United Nations involvement in human trafficking, has also been well documented and is dramatized in the book and film The Whistleblower based on policewoman Kathryn Bolkovac’s experiences in Bosnia.

Globalism
The three main pillars of the New World Order that the global elite want to bring about are: A One World Economy, a One World Government and a One World Religion. Their shorthand to describe all this is: Globalism.

One world religion
As the United Nations is working for a one-world government, so the World Council of Churches is working for a one-world religion. The World Council of Churches and its local member bodies, such as the National Council of Churches in America, and the South African Council of Churches in South Africa, promote interfaith conferences and urge us to focus on our “shared religious traditions.” This interfaith movement is being promoted by Non-Governmental Organisations, charity foundations, and prominent politicians worldwide.

WCC
The WCC claims to represent 349 churches, denominations and church fellowships, in more than 110 countries and territories around the world, representing over 560 million Christians. WCC members include most of the world’s Orthodox churches, Anglicans, Methodists, Lutherans, Presbyterians and some Baptist, United and Independent churches. Most, though not all, WCC members tend to be very liberal theologically and are experiencing dramatic decline in church attendance. Many of the people they claim as members have been converted and left the WCC affiliates to join Evangelical churches.

Treason from within
The Roman leader Cicero, in 42BC, wrote: “A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves among those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not traitor, he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims and he wears their face and their garments, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night, to undermine the pillars of a city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared.”

Brave new world
In 1932, Aldous Huxley published The Brave New World. This book describes as future state of human slavery where people live carefree lives in a technologically advanced society, subdued by drugs and bombarded with endless stimulations and distractions. The 20th century idols of atheism, humanism and communism have now become mainstream.

Towards a new world order
The first attempt to establish a New World Order was by the people who came to the land of Shinar (present day Iraq) and built the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11). Others have tried since: Nebuchadnezzar with his Babylonian Empire, Alexander the Great with his Greek/Macedonian Empire, The Roman Empire, Genghis Khan and the Mongols, Napoleon, Lenin, Stalin and the Communist International. George Bush senior and Soviet President, Mikhail Gorbachev, repeatedly spoke of a New World Order in the early 90s. US President, Bill Clinton, regularly spoke of the New World Order as being of the highest priority on the International Agenda.
The manipulators
Major players in working to bring about this New World Order include the Trilateral Commission, the Council of Foreign Relations and the Bilderbergers. These groups work behind the scenes, but their more prominent tools are the United Nations and the World Council of Churches.
Removing obstacles
The New World Order worked hard at destroying those states that attempted to uphold Christian values. Hence the extraordinary international campaigns against Rhodesia and South Africa in the 60s, 70s and 80s.
Destroying the middle class
The destruction of much of the middle class through financial crises such as that triggered by banks selling worthless derivatives which caused the 2008 economic collapse, cost tens-of-millions of people their jobs, their savings and their homes.
How can we resist?
First, we need to know our enemy.
“My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge…” Hosea 4:6

We need to recognise their tactics.
“Another generation grew up, who knew neither the Lord, nor what He had done…” Judges 2:10
Wide gates to hell
German Reformer, Dr. Martin Luther, warned: “I am much afraid that schools will prove to be wide gates to hell, unless they diligently labour in explaining the Holy Scriptures, engraving them in the hearts of youth. I advise no one to place his child where the Scriptures do not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not constantly occupied with the Word of God must become corrupt.”

Education philosophy will become government policy
You cannot trust any government state with the moulding of the minds of future voters. God commanded His people: “Learn not the way of the heathen.” Jeremiah 10:2. The control of education should be in the hands of parents and the content of education must be Bible-based. Children do not belong to the state. Children are made in the image of God and are entrusted to parents to: “Bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4

Christian education
All parents must become involved in the Parents Teacher Associations of their local school and take an active role in their education of their young, according to Biblical principles. Bible-based Christian schools should be supported. Home schooling should be prayerfully considered by those parents who have the means to do so. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Psalm 111:10

The battle for the family
Christians should have large families and ensure that they are brought up in the love and the fear of the Lord. Teaching is an integral part of the Great Commission and therefore an indispensable part of our Mission. Christian parents and church leaders must give high priority to the establishment and supporting of Christian schools and home schooling. “We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord… He commanded our forefathers to teach their children… and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God.” Psalm 78:4-7
The great commission
We must never allow any distractions to deter us from obeying Christ’s Great Commission. Our purpose on earth is to: “Make disciples… teaching obedience” Matthew 28:19-20. The lifeblood of the Church is its Evangelistic zeal. No matter what the situation, or how adverse the circumstances may seem to be, our Lord commands us to: “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction.” 2 Timothy 4:2

Vision
“Where there is no vision a people perish…” Proverbs 29:18. Our people need a positive and practical vision from the Word of God for our personal lives, for our churches, for our nations and for the world.
Symptoms
We need to squarely face the great moral challenges of our day, including the symptoms of our moral sickness: deception in the news media, degenerate entertainment, dishonesty in business and decadence in government.

Recognise the root causes
What is even more important is that we recognise the root causes: ineffective churches, insipid preaching, irresponsible leaders, a rejection of God’s Law as the foundation for our families, churches and nation, neglect of the Bible, prayerlessness, selfishness, confusion, compromise, cowardice and, at the very core, a lack of wholehearted love for God.

Issue evasion
If our churches are motivated primarily by growth in members, finance, buildings and community prestige then issue evasion, a policy of non-confrontation and compromise is inevitable. Building our own empire does not allow for serving the Kingdom of God.

What do you stand for?
In the demands for greater and more spectacular events, churches have concentrated on how to get converts – not on what they are supposed to be converted for.
This is because escapism sells better than service.
Forgiveness attracts more members than teaching obedience.
Blessings are far more popular than sacrifice.
Many churches primarily stand for escape and entertainment, offering forgiveness to those who neither want to obey, nor serve.
Churches which are obsessed with growth cannot afford to upset the peace and affluence of their members, or prospective members.

Choose this day

For many it is a choice between:
Popularity or Principle,
Prestige or Persecution,
Prosperity or Powerful Christianity,
Sensationalism or Spirituality,
Success or Sacrifice,
Serving man or Serving God,
Church growth or Church depth,
Respectability before man or Revival from God.

Compromise
The result is that all too many churches are entertaining their members, rather than educating them with expositionary preaching from God’s Word. They are comforting their members instead of challenging them in confronting sin. Many prefer revelry to preaching Repentance. “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your Throne; love and faithfulness go before You.” Psalm 89:14
Priorities

We must give our highest priority to loving, worshiping, serving, obeying and honouring God. We need a Biblical vision of righteousness, justice, love and compassion. “The Lord loves righteousness and justice…” Psalm 33:5

“Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts.” Amos 5:15

“Clothe yourselves with compassion.” Colossians 3:12

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did it for Me.” Matthew 25:40

A positive programme
We need to promote a renewed vision, revitalised leadership, a restored nation, through returning to God in Repentance, rediscovering the Biblical Agenda, rebuilding the walls of our society, resisting the demands for cultural suicide, resolutely working for Reformation and praying for Revival.

Support Christian media
We must support Christian alternatives to the secular humanist dominated media: Subscribe to JOY! and JUIG! Magazines and Christian Action. Become a local distributor for these magazines in your church. “And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.” 1 Thessalonians 5:15

“In the time of those kings, the God of Heaven will set up a Kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end. But will itself endure forever.” Daniel 2:44

“All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the nations will bow down before Him, for our dominion belongs to the Lord and He rules over the nations.”

Tamryn Klintworth: Africas Brave, Bold Evangelist

Africa will be saved!” This is the heart cry of Tamryn Klintworth, a fiery woman who has been called by God to be a crusade evangelist to the beloved land of Africa. Many outdoor, travel enthusiasts depart on the journey from Cape to Cairo with the bare minimum to trek across the plains of Africa in search of adventure, while blogging along the way to keep a record of their bucket-list journey. But when Tamryn and In His Name Ministries travel, they carry the most valuable tool – the Gospel – and return with not just memories, but souls for Christ. Proclaiming the matchless message of salvation is the focus of Tamryn’s life and ministry.
A life of devotion
This vibrant and enthusiastic woman of God has family roots that are established in Jesus Christ. From a young age she remembers her mother praying while cooking at the stove.
“At the age of five, I responded to an altar call at children’s church and accepted Jesus as my Saviour. From that day, He began to draw me to Himself with the faithfulness and devotion that is unique to God alone. He positioned Himself as the centre of my world.”
Breaking the mould
Tamryn’s love for Christ grew from that day and while she knew that God would eventually call her into full-time ministry, she never expected the calling to be that of an evangelist. “I assumed that the Lord could not use me to deliver those trapped in darkness, as I had no experience of not walking in His light. How wrong was I? In my mind, an evangelist was someone whose before-Christ days were brimming with all manner of atrocities. I believed that my good-girl upbringing would not fit the mould.”
Before realising this incredible calling on her life, Tamryn completed school and went on to study a Bachelor of Laws. While studying, she never wavered from her faith and continued to serve in her church and attended courses at Rhema Bible School between her Law classes. Tamryn’s passion for the advancement of the Gospel continued to grow until one event set her on the path to full time evangelism…
The event that changed it all
“I was in the third year of my four year degree, when I happened to attend a crusade of Christ for all Nations (CfaN) with Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke in Nigeria. My mother had always dreamt of attending a CfaN crusade. She had befriended the Southern African Director of the ministry (a woman who would later become my mother-in-law) who invited her to join a group she was taking to the event. I tagged along.
The first night of the crusade was an emotional experience for me. A crowd of 100 000 people stretched out before us. It was awe-inspiring, overwhelming, an ocean of humanity. I still remember Evangelist Bonnke apologising to the guests for the smallness of the crowd, assuring us that it would still grow. It did grow – to 500 000! The moment he picked up the microphone and kicked-off his Gospel message with a characteristic, “Hallelujah!” I was in tears. I did not stop weeping throughout the service. Something inside of me was connecting with what this man was doing.”
During the week, the Holy Spirit spoke to Tamryn, asking her if the crusade she saw, with its masses, messages and conversions, was what she wanted. At a moment when she was separated from the crowd and hearing the still, gentle voice of God, she whispered a sincere “Yes”. Running with a vision from the Lord
When Tamryn returned home, she gingerly enquired when the Lord expected her to commence ministry, since He had not included within the calling, permission to quit her studies.
“I must confess, I anticipated a gentle, “Of course, once you have finished that degree of yours. You have a lot on your plate right now, I do not want to put too much pressure on you.” That, however, was not the answer I received! His answer? “Now!” And so, I got going.”
Between classes, Tamryn preached at schools and on weekends. “I registered In His Name Ministries (IHN) and planned a crusade at a nearby campus. I started slowly, but I started. As soon as I finished my studies, I went full-time and never looked back.
There are so many believers who extinguish their callings by waiting for the perfect moment to get going. I always encourage such people with an important truth: slow-going is better than no-going! If the Lord places something on your heart to accomplish, get going with it, no matter how small the steps you are taking may seem. Unless the Lord has expressly told you to wait, then you had better not. The devil will ensure your ‘perfect moment’ never arrives.”
Invaluable experience
Quite soon after Tamryn began ministering, the South African Director of CfaN invited her to come on board as a full-time employee to assist with a Fire Conference in Cape Town. Tamryn was provided with the opportunity to learn in a hands-on fashion about the running of a crusade evangelistic ministry. “The experience and know-how I gained while with CfaN was invaluable. I discovered how to build a strong ministry structure that could grow and expand without breaking under the pressure. Also, I learnt how to avoid the common pitfalls many young evangelists naively blunder into.”
The perfect match
It was also while working with CfaN that Tamryn met her husband, André, who manages the South African CfaN office. Having grown up in the ministry, André knows crusade evangelism inside-out and his guidance and support is invaluable to Tamryn. “When we met and fell in love, I was not at all interested in the dating scene. I was wholeheartedly committed to the call of God and entirely devoted to that. The Lord was – and still is – the King of my heart, the Captain of my soul. André is my gift from God. I could not do what I do without him.”
Overcoming cultural stereotypes
As a woman in ministry, many might expect that Tamryn would have some resistance when entering into patriarchal contexts within traditional African areas, but the opposite is actually true. “I have been wonderfully accepted across Africa. In fact, the pastors and people consider me to be quite the novelty! I am fondly known as the white woman who preaches like a black man. The Spirit is not limited by gender. I preach with unreserved passion, my motive being nothing but love – and the Lord works through me. This is all that matters to them.”
The greatest reward
IHN is a small team of only four permanent staff members, currently hosting between five to six crusades a year, each spanning from five to seven days. Tamryn is grateful for those who support them financially and those who consistently cover them in prayer.
“For me, each crusade is the greatest of highlights. These are what we work for, fight for, battle for, weep for. All the sweat and tears wane away during crusade week. While such is still hard work, the avalanches of salvation, healing and deliverance thrill me to the extent that I am in Heaven on earth. The lost accept the Lord in their thousands, the blind see, lame walk, and deaf hear, night after night, demoniacs come tormented and leave jubilant.”
Taking care of South Africa
While missioning across borders and inspiring a passion for soul-winning in the hearts of pastors, Tamryn has not neglected her home country. IHN has held numerous crusades in South Africa and the results have been fantastic. The rural areas have been their main focus, as well as township communities.
“South Africa is – I believe – like all other countries. People are desperately hungry for Jesus even if they do not know it. Preach Him and they will accept Him. Do not preach Him and they will spiral into all manner of calamity. The more we preach Christ Jesus, the better South Africa will become.”
Many believers are concerned about the spiritual climate of South Africa and Tamryn accredits this to the hunger that many have for a genuine move of the Holy Spirit. “Believers are tired of showy worship and performance preaching. They are tired of altar calls for salvation not being made and the sick and those in bondage not being prayed for. They are tired of lukewarm Christianity, one in which God is limited by ego and the desire to control every aspect of a service.”
Crossing oceans
IHN has recently registered the ministry in the United States and are in the final stages of setting up in the United Kingdom. Tamryn explains: “I am hungry to set ablaze not only Africa with a fire and fervour for soul-winning, but the rest of the world as well. It excites me that In His Name will soon have a family of partners stretching across three continents and then beyond. My team and I are also busy producing a television series that will inspire, equip and empower believers to win the lost. The series is based on my newly released book, Spirit of Fire. Such is a read that will thrust you out of your armchair and into the mission field, namely your place of work, study and play. It will teach you how to partner with the Holy Spirit, transforming you from closet Christian into red hot witness.”
Supporting the ministry
We pray that a phenomenal harvest of souls will be reaped in each and every nation that is visited by Tamryn and her team. May God get all the glory as she ministers to people.
