Christmas: The gift of peace

The world is weary. It seems as if it has been weary for a very long time. These last few years have sparked demonstrations, world shifting alliances, and many believers in the Christian world have fallen away from church and have a very heightened look at end times prophecies. The words of “O Holy Night” are definitely on the mark when it says that the world is weary and we can legitimately ask – where is the Prince of peace?

This peace from Jesus, the Prince of peace, is the ultimate peace that makes any and all other peace possible. It unlocks the door of our hearts and minds to genuine forgiveness, generosity, obedience, and love – which can and must be extended to our community to bring about reconciliation, healing, change, and justice. Christmas reminds us that God sent His Son into this world to open this door of peace to our hearts…

Lessons learnt from the Springboks

The Bokkies have consistently been open and unapologetic about their faith. Christians must take a leaf out of their book and stop apologising and being timid about their faith. Jesus said in Matthew 10:33, “But whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.” The testimonies of the Springboks have reached millions and even billions around the world, and they have been a consistent and faithful witness for Christ in the nations.

The number one lesson we can take from many of the South African national Springbok rugby players is their unashamed and unapologetic stance for Christ…

The prayer womb

Look at the terrible issues of our world right now. Every need we see is where God wants us to release, through prayer, His future for that situation. God shows us what is wrong so we can pray for things to be made right. Why waste energy criticising what’s wrong when our prayers can change it? The Lord our God in the midst of us is mighty. Our weapons are mighty – pulling down strongholds. Stop thinking of yourself as unable to pray. That’s a lie out of hell. You are a prayer warrior!
