His lord said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord."

Question:

It's hard to live a single life, especially when you don't have a close friend or true brother to talk to. We all need to be loved and given a word of encouragement, as well as to be hugged and to just hear someone say – it’s OK, I love you. My faith is in the Lord but living without someone to share life with, is hard. I pray that you can help me.

Answer:

Living with someone can be just as hard as living without someone. Ask any married person! Personal fulfilment is an inner condition and essential to successful relationships. Paul discovered that and he testified: “I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.”  Phil 4:11

At the same time, the Lord who created us knew that “it is not good that man should be alone” (Gen 2:18) and He has made Divine provision for His people to be loved and accepted in the physical world. Psalm 68:6 tells us that “God sets the solitary in families.”

Every Christian is encouraged, therefore, to get involved with their local church family to “consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities; not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together (as believers), as is the habit of some people, but admonishing - warning, urging and encouraging - one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the Day approaching.” Heb 10:24, 25 Amplified Bible.

Become faithfully involved and active in your local church and you will find many good and Godly friends, people who will stand by you, hug you and love you. People you can love and appreciate and who will pray with you for a suitable life partner!
