Question:

Can you tell me from the Bible why babies have to die?

Answer:

The Bible says that the Lord "saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in Your Book!" Ps. 139:16. Every person born has an allotted lifespan from the Lord - even babies - and He has the right to call someone off this earth when His purposes require it. Even a little sparrow does not die without the Lord knowing about it.

Death as we know it (i.e. separation of the physical part of man from the non-physical) is also not necessarily a judgment. For those who know the Lord and come under His Grace it is a great triumph and the GATEWAY to an Eternity in His Presence. For the believer it is a PROMOTION to beat all promotions! "Absent from the body and  ... present with the Lord."  2 Cor 5:8. What joy! What glory! Christ has taken the sting right out of death! (1 Cor 15:54, 55).

What about babies? They are too young to personally believe and the Bible tells us that they come under the special Grace of God. Jesus said: "Let the little children come to Me and do not forbid them: for of such is the Kingdom of God." Luke 18:16. Until someone reaches the age of accountability (known to the Lord), He does not hold them responsible for sin. In fact, when sinners repent and turn to Christ the Lord says they are in the same state as babies - declared innocent! To illustrate this Jesus once called a little child to His side and said: "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the Kingdom of Heaven." Matt. 18:2

Why do babies die? To fulfil the purposes of God and to enjoy His Presence for all Eternity.
