His lord said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord."

Question:

I am aged 18 with a hunger to worship and praise God and tell the world about His greatness through music, but am unable to do that due to unavailable opportunities in my country. My question is what I should ask God for in this case?

Answer:

The Lord knows how you are wired and why He wired you that way. This is the time not to “lean on your own understanding” but commit yourself fully to Him and obey the prompting of the Holy Spirit. He will guide you to the right place to use your talents for Him – Ps. 32:8. Ask God to lead and guide you daily and to give you grace to understand what He is saying.

Sometimes, however, we have to go on a learning curve to gain spiritual perspective and maturity, and that takes time. The important thing is to use every opportunity to minister to the very best of your ability – e.g. leading worship in Sunday school, for example – and to hone your God-given talents. In time, God will reward your faithfulness and give you greater responsibilities. Don’t try to run ahead. Keep pace with Him and build a strong foundation.
